Position Description
Program Assistant - Livestock
AMERICAN SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION
The Program Assistant - Livestock is directly under the supervision of the Country Director but has full-time responsibility to the Livestock Technical Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide full-time logistical and administrative support services on a timely basis to the Livestock TD to include, but not be restricted to :
1. Assist with the administration and logistics of swine seminars and other various activities within the ASA swine program.
2. Translating and interpreting for the Livestock TD.
3. Responsible for the logistics of publishing ASA swine technical papers.
4. Responsible for keeping an updated mailing list of ASA swine contacts and distributing swine publications to those contacts on a regular basis.
5. Assist in the writing, distribution and collection of evaluation forms for ASA swine activities.
6. Assist with technical presentation materials for Livestock TD and Swine TD when needed.
7. Assist with follow-up with past swine activity participants.
8. Provide support to Livestock TD and Swine TD in organization and data analysis for feeding demonstrations.
9. Provide logistical support for ASA Swine Teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. B.Sc./M.Sc. Agriculture, preferably swine/dairy training; industry experience a definite asset.
2. Must have an excellent command of bilingual reading, writing and speaking English and Mandarin Chinese suitable for translation at seminar programs.
3. Proficient computer skills, especially MS Office.
4. Must be familiar with standard office practices &procedures; able to perform duties accurately and efficiently.
